I am encountering two problems when installing Software on Vista Beta 2 which may be realted. The software is the Lexmark Software Suite for the 4300 Series and Macromedia Studio 8 FULL Install.
What happens is that both of these softwares hang during installation, with the %CPU of the install processes bouncing between near 0% and 99% and the hard disk thrashing away like its no tomorrow. The Lexmark software hangs on "Transferring Data ..." and the Studio Software Hangs on the installation of Dreamweaver during "Verifying Installation Files ..."
I've tried Disabling User Access Control and Data Execution Prevention, Running the software in XP Compatability mode, and running the software as "Administrator" to no avail.
I also ran chkdsk to see if it was a filesystem problem - Chkdsk found no errors in the hard disk partition.
Has anyone else encountered a simular problem or does someone know of a solution?

FYI :- I DID have Vista Beta 1 installed on the same partition previously. I performed a NEW Beta 2 install but it didn't give me the option to wipe the partition. (It renamed the old System directory to Windows old) So I'm going to manually wipe the partition using Partition Magic and then Re-install Vista Beta 2 Again. I'll let y'all know if this fixes the issue.
I also have a complicated setup on my PC. I have three seperate harddisks with 2 partitions each on them. Vista is installed on the Second Hardisk's Primary Partition.
